The 3 MW, two-bladed turbine, located 15 kilometers off the coast of Kitakyushu, is part of a pioneering initiative to harness floating wind energy in Japan. Installed on <strong data-start=\"387\" data-end=\"411\">Ideol\u2019s Damping Pool<\/strong> floating foundation, the turbine represents a significant advancement in renewable energy technology for the country.<\/h5>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"531\" data-end=\"910\">Originally commissioned in May 2019, the <strong data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"582\">Hibiki<\/strong> project was initially part of a demonstration study conducted by the <strong data-start=\"652\" data-end=\"724\">New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)<\/strong>. Following the completion of the demonstration in March 2024, <strong data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"797\">Glocal<\/strong> took over the project and established <strong data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"873\">Hibiki Floating Wind Power (HFWP)<\/strong> to manage and operate the wind farm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1280\">The electricity generated by the 3 MW wind turbine will be supplied to <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1016\">Kyushu Electric Power Company<\/strong>, while <strong data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1034\">Glocal<\/strong> will handle operations and maintenance (O&amp;M). Asset management will be overseen by <strong data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1141\">SMFL Mirai Partners<\/strong>.
